Decentralization Meetup: Decentralization and Mass Adoption – Where are we & where are we going?

Ort: Trust Square, Bahnhofstr. 3, 8001 Zürich, Zürich

"As the pace of change increases, the very meaning of being human is likely to mutate and physical and cognitive structures will melt" – Yuval Noah Harari

What was once a sworn in community of cypherpunks, hackers and people interested in new technologies has grown to a heterogenic movement that wants to unroot the conventional, shift paradigms and decentralize the world. Especially during the 2017 rush it seemed like the days of middlemen are counted and it felt like decentralization is just around the corner and then crypto-winter doomed.
Where are we now on the way to mass-adoption of decentralized technologies? What does the goal line look like - if there is one? Why and what should we decentralize?

Dezentrum is proud to host Yessin Schiegg of Status, Bernd Lapp of Swarm City and Eduardo Diaz of Dappnode to a talk addressing these questions and paint their future visions.

With Status (www.status.im) your mobile device becomes a light client node on the Ethereum Network, enabling you to access Ethereum’s entire ecosystem from anywhere.

Swarm City (www.swarm.city) is a blockchain based marketplace with a built in reputation system.
Swarm City uses blockchain technology and smart contracts to allow people to communicate and transact value, and earn contextual reputation.

DAppnode (www.dappnode.io) is empowering people by creating a simple, transparent system for hosting P2P clients for DApps, Cryptocurrencies, VPNs, IFPS and more.
